Who We Are

Tompkins Time Traders (T3)  is a time bank.  We are a separate organization from Ithaca Hours, our world renowned alternative currency system.   T3 and Ithaca Hours have different features and benefits.

MISSION STATEMENT

Tompkins Time Traders is a not-for-profit community organization that provides a time exchange network of services and goods for all residents of Tompkins County, empowering individuals to utilize their skills and enhance their lives, neighborhood and community.

The notion of bringing time banking to Tompkins County got traction in 2011, as a group affectionately known as the Kitchen Cabinet got together to spearhead this project. These were T3‘s first formal time bankers, and we will be forever grateful to Leslie Strebel, Danielle Klock, Karryn Olson-Ramanujan and Margaret Soulstein for breathing life into this idea. Invaluable support was provided by Meg Doherty, and Shira and Ari Evergreen.  Our partners at hOurworld.org also provided training and software, all in the spirit of spreading the word.

Now the Kitchen Cabinet (KC) is the organizing board that manages Tompkins Time Traders. Current Kitchen Cabinet Members:  Meg Doherty, Margaret Soulstein (coordinator) and Leslie Strebel.  Email info@tompkinstimetraders.net to find out how you can join the Kitchen Cabinet.

We hope you will help us grow T3!
